Overview
Subspecialty cancer surgery, delivered with continuity.
A cancer diagnosis changes everything. Surgical oncology is a subspecialty of general surgery focused on the surgical management of cancer — diagnosis, staging, and resection — coordinated with the medical and radiation oncology teams that will care for you before and after surgery.
Dr. Shaw is fellowship-trained in surgical oncology, with a primary focus on cancers of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, and biliary system. He performs Whipple procedures, hepatic resections, and other complex oncologic operations using robotic and open technique — always selected based on what is best for each tumor and each patient.

Dr. Shaw is the single point of contact through every phase of surgery and recovery — and remains available throughout follow-up.
