Specialty

General & robotic surgery.

Comprehensive abdominal and minimally invasive surgery — performed by fellowship-trained surgeons using the most appropriate technique for each patient.

Overview

The full breadth of general surgery, performed with precision and continuity.

General surgery is the foundation of our practice. Both Dr. Shaw and Dr. Decio operate at the highest standard for the full range of abdominal and soft-tissue procedures — from straightforward gallbladder removal to complex hernia repair and oncologic resection.

Whenever clinically appropriate, we use the da Vinci® robotic platform or laparoscopic technique to deliver smaller incisions, less post-operative pain, and faster recovery. Open surgery is reserved for cases where it offers a safer or better outcome — never as a default, always as a deliberate choice.

What to expect

Most general surgery patients are seen for an in-office consultation, undergo same-day or short-stay surgery within one to three weeks, and follow up at one to two weeks post-op. The surgeon you meet at consultation is the surgeon who operates — and the one you call afterward if anything comes up.

Have a referral or symptoms to discuss? We’ll be in touch within one business day.
